Show Notes:
Jarrod is back with Lewis and Janet in tow to talk about all things Who and the latest convention news. Like the fact that we have 100 DAYS to get ready for our big event!
Since we were last together Hurricane Who was pretty busy partying with the likes of Gareth David-Lloyd, Frazer Hines, John Leeson, and Laura Doddington. Our TARDIS has quite the collection of signatures. Plus, we are very excited to be hosting Sylvester McCoy in August.
The convention is still on track for Halloween weekend. We’ve added a Convention Launch Party at Cricketers Arms Pub the evening before the convention start. Many of the convention guests will join us at this event. Jarrod reviews all our convention guests confirmed to-date and announces some great news regarding a LOWER convention hotel rate! The convention event schedule is coming together and we hope to post it on the website soon. Ideas for panels are under discussion on our new forum.
Speaking of which, we launched a new forum – The Eye of the Forum. Barnaby from DWNY is on board as one of our moderators (many thanks to Barnaby). In the past few months Hurricane Who has spread out all over the internet. You can find us on facebook, twitter, youtube, and flickr.
More Hurricane Parties are in the planning for AFTER the convention, but we aren’t saying much about them yet!
In part two of the podcast, we talk about Matt Smith and his new ginger companion, Karen Gillam. Lewis speculates if we will be able to post Matt’s costume pictures before Louis of Doctor Who Podshock can! (editors note – we actually WERE successful in doing this, but Jarrod had to stay up ALL night in order to accomplish the feat).
Then we get on with our review of “Torchwood: Children of Earth”. Possibly the best five hours of television this year. Spoilers abound! Vomiting monsters, fan hate mail poems, oh my!
On to some bad puns regarding the Waters of Mars, talk about Wilfred in the Tardis for Christmas, and Sarah Jane’s…wedding. Then…Jarrod tells us about Janet Fielding.
And finally, don’t forget to come to the Hurricane Who Convention and offer your condolences on Ianto’s fate to Gareth!
